Always been interested on how people found GS and the forums, always like a good backstory. I'll start. So I was just chilling playing some fortnite when my friend said play some GMOD. I loaded up my GMOD and was searching for some servers to play on. I found this server and joined. I got trained by my man Tyrone and I enjoyed the server.

Legit joined a community about 4-5 years ago named Vision and it's more or less turned into this. More or less been either an SA or a Dev since I can remember.

Basically similar to Corva's and Delta's.

It's a fucking mad story but I was on Steam in early March speaking to Derpes and I was like:
"You know what'd be mad, if you opened up another server and it was JvS." then he replied with "you got a crystal ball?" and hooked me up to Stone and then it all went from there, I joined Stoniest's discord when Genesis was just out the drawing board. I gave my input/advice whenever I could and soon enough I got reacquainted with some old friends *cough Rich*. We both were the first 2 to get Staff and we stayed for ages. I climbed the ranks in Jedi and Sith and then did the same in Staff. It was a huge challenge as on Vision/Resolute, unlike everyone else. I wasn't know for good reasons so I had alot of stuff to correct from my past. But as you can see, I managed. And I am very happy. Sometime in April my two close friends @PR3D4T0R @Dion joined and It was good to be with them again and everyday I come on I'm so glad I am where I am.

Me and about ten plus of my friends left a bad server, and they found this one and I joined them to start a new.

After the drama and corruption on Reborn, myself and my Family were in the search for a new server. Ronin and I were up late, because what is a healthy sleep schedule(?), and we were spreading out to find a new home. I saw this one, and tried it out. Just from the loading screen tips I started to become eager to play, and at that character creation screen I knew this would be an amazing server. It was a little hard to get trained, as we are american and so it was some ungodly time for you EU players, but it happened and had me sold. I then told the rest of the gang and here we are.

The year is 2015 .... A young man in high school was sitting in his bedroom. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he hit a bong, and from this he had an idea... An idea that would shape peoples lives for the next 4 years, a place where everybody would be welcome, a safe-haven of sorts, and that would allow people to make memories that they would hold on to for a lifetime. That man was @Derpes

Vision Roleplay was born, the rest is history.

On a sunny morning, one day in July 2016, myself and @Dion graced the community with our presence and with 1 common goal in mind.... See who could get banned the fastest. We tried everything, and despite our best efforts, we just couldn't seem to get banned. Ultimately, we liked the server, and we decided to stay. We both joined the staff team, and it went something like this; Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Resign > Take a Break ..... Return > Apply > Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Promotion.

Like most, the server had it's ups and downs but unfortunately, a decision was made in mid-late December 2017 to discontinue Vision Roleplay for good.... That was the end .....

BUT WAS IT?

Fast forward (literally like not even 2 fuken weeks) (Pretty sure anyway ....), something new was on the horizon, what was it going to be? Arma 3? Deathrun? Nobody knew. Then, out of nowhere, @Derpes returns and drops a new Star Wars Roleplay community, called Resolute Networks. People hadn't even had time to make a cup of tea and everything was back! New server, some new staff, but ultimately similar people returning, playing, and staying. The server was re-branded, and it seemed that this was what it needed. People flocked to the server and couldn't get enough of it, New Server, Who Dis?

Resolute Networks was born, the rest is history.

Early January 2018, myself and @Dion again found ourselves joining the server, with one common goal in mind.... See who could get onto the staff team first. Fortunately, we both made it, and just like we'd done back in 2016, we loved it. It wen't something like this; Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > STAY > Promotion > Promotion.

Again, the server had it's ups and downs but unfortunately, a decision was made in mid(ish) 2018 to discontinue Resolute Networks for good.... That was the end ....

BUT WAS IT?
(Unfortunately, yeah.... it sort of was, like, basically yeah)

BOOM, Out of nowhere, in March/April 2019 I hear rumours of a new server starting up, but not a Star Wars Roleplay one, a Jedi vs Sith one, and this time, although @Derpes was on-board, the original idea sprouted from @Stoniest an OG Vision Roleplay member.

Genesis Servers was born, the rest is history.... and still in the making.

Once again .... I found myself joining, but this time with the absence of somebody who had been there with me through it all.... @Dion . He was sceptical about joining, as he said "The gamemode sounds shit" and "I'm not interested". Long story short, I convinced him to join and I don't think he's left the server since. Myself & @Dion were drafted into the staff team, and it went something like this; Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Promotion > Resign > Take a Break..... Although, @Dion has outlived me this time & stayed with the server.

You asked me how I found Genesis Servers, and I've answered. (And also for Dion).

The funny part is, this is a very, very, very, very watered down version of the story, as there is so much more detail and many more events that were involved, but this has taken me long enough so you'll have to cope with this.

Well...

I downloaded Gmod in summer of 2015 (i think?) and Vision was the first server i joined (i've literally only played swrp).
Funnily enough the first regiment i joined was the 212th where @Neo (formally Swift) was my Captain.

I met loads of people, climbed the ranks and learnt how to RP. Eventually i began applying for staff, being denied my first few attempts (by @Crossen if i remember correctly :(). But eventually got accepted and joined the staff team. Throughout this time the server was going through a lot of drama, with a split in the staff team and people taking sides. I didn't really know much of the situation but followed some people to a new and short lived server which i wont bother to name.

After that, i was accepted back at Vision and joined staff again, making it to SA. @Derpes then opened a new City Life server, which resulted in me switching to that staff team. I made it to SA here again but sadly the server didn't work out and was closed. I think at this point i had started Uni and quit Gmod until the following summer (i think)

When i returned it was alot different, lots of new faces and a whole new staff team, but i rejoined the staff team and began to work my way up the ranks. I remember when @PR3D4T0R was Community manager and @Dion was admin (i think this is right) and i was SA. Ching left and i took his place, then became Head Admin and finally became one of 3 owners (Not including Dan).

The story takes a bit of a dark turn here, with certain people doing things that i wont go into again. But eventually it resulted in me being the sole owner of Vision whilst Dan was busy at College. Unfortunately, i was also in my second year of Uni and found it hard to make time for the server so i wasn't proactive as i would have liked to have been.

The community and playerbase died down a lot in this time, as it always did when school started again but this time it was different; people no longer came on after school, and the community became pretty toxic. A good max playerbase for a day was like 20, which obviously wasn't good enough, and i realised we wouldn't even be able to pay for the next server payment.

It was at this point i gathered everyone who was still active (player and staff) into teamspeak and asked for their opinions. I wasn't able to contact Dan so i made the decision to close Vision Roleplay, it simply was a dying animal that needed to be put down to stop its name being tarnished. Dan messaged me the next day saying he wanted to try again, however i had to tell him i had to resign from Gmod due to University. (This is when he released Resolute)

I never thought i would return to Gmod, but 2 years later i see Dan and a few other Vision veterans in the same server, so i join and here we are now.

Its so long ago now that i probs messed up some stuff but that's how i remember it.
And to this day i still think closing Vision was the best decision for the community, if i hadn't we may not be here now :)

Almost right, but I can speak for myself thank you.

Let's start from the end of Vision, of course, @TAZ closed the server down, although to my knowledge @Derpes came on pissed off shocked and confused and turned it back on or something along those lines. While @PR3D4T0R has described everything that went on pretty acurately he seems to think we were on Resolute together when I was never staff on Resolute. I'd grown pretty bored of star wars rp towards the end of vision and the way it was being run didn't sit right towards the end with me so after I was removed from Head Admin I left. I did play Resolute but it seemed to echo a lot of the problems that I experienced with vision and as I just mentioned, I was no longer interested in Star Wars RP. I played Genesis at some point in its Beta or just after once, I came on as a Kung and had no clue what was going on. Fast forward a bit and @PR3D4T0R kept continuously harassing me to "cOmE oN tHE sERveR", I tried to explain to him that I had already tried it and it wasn't my cup of tea but he persisted which is what might have prompted a response along the lines of "it's shit" but @Derpes made it so little doubt about that.

Eventually, I caved in and joined. @Rex was already on the server from the start because he's an ass kisser with him it didn't take long for me to get acquainted with Jedi.

Ahh yes, my memory is jogged (Sorry, I'm old).

Myself & Dion were busy with a Basewars server in early January. We heard about Resolute and the basewars was going downhill, so we stopped it and moved on. Thinking about it now, @Dion wasn't staff, I thought he was, but he did one of his famous disappearing acts where he just randomly disappears and returns about 8 months later. He was there at the beginning, a little bit in the middle and there at the end.

I think I have dementia.
